The highlights:
  • Fourth-best economic status for women: More Colorado women participate in the labor force and hold managerial or professional positions than they do in the nation as a whole. Colorado earned a B overall for economic autonomy.
  • Good health status for women: Colorado has low mortality rates for women from heart disease, lung cancer, and breast cancer. This helped it rank 16th overall in the nation for women's health and well-being, earning a grade of B.
The problems:
  • C- in reproduction and family planning index: Colorado women lack many of the reproduction and family planning resources identified as important, and as a result the state ranked 25th in the nation.
