Conference Venue Information
    The conference will be June 22-24, 2003 at the Capital Hilton Hotel, 16th and K Streets NW, Washington, DC. The Capital Hilton is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Washington near the Farragut North Metrorail stop on the red line, or at the Farragut West Metrorail stop on the blue/orange line. Valet parking is available at the Capital Hilton. The area also has self-parking garages conveniently located in the surrounding blocks of the hotel. For more information on accommodation options, click here.

 

Travel Information
    United Airlines is the official airline of the Institute for Women's Policy Research Conference. Once you have registered for the conference, contact IWPR for the Meeting Plus ID Code to receive discounted fares. If you or your travel agent call United's toll-free number, 1-800-521-4041, to book your reservation, you will receive a 5% discount off the lowest applicable discount fare including First-Class, or a 10% discount off full fare unrestricted coach fares, purchased seven days in advance. Discounts apply on Shuttle by United and United Express. A call to United's Meeting Reservation center at 1-800-521-4041 will help you get the best fares and schedule, or you can visit United Airlines online at www.united.com.

 

Accommodation Options
    All conference activities will take place at the Capital Hilton Hotel, 16th and K Streets NW, Washington, D.C.  The Capital Hilton Conference rate is $159.00 per night, single/double, but this rate is no longer guaranteed because the conference date is so close. To reserve your room, please call the Capital Hilton at 202-393-1000 or 1-800-HILTONS. Be sure to tell them that you are attending the Institute for Women's Policy Research Conference. As the conference date approaches, reservations requests will be accepted on the basis of space and rate availability. As mentioned above, valet parking is available, and self-parking garages are located in the surrounding blocks of the hotel.

    There are also rooms available in dormitories at the George Washington University at a rate of $50 per bed per night. If you prefer this option, download and print the request form below and either mail it directly to IWPR using the following address: Institute for Women's Policy Research, Attn: Conference Coordinator, 1707 L Street NW, Washington, DC, 20036; or fax it to IWPR at 202-833-4362. Parking is available for conference participants at the GWU campus in the University parking garage located on H street, between 22nd and 23rd street, for $12.00/weekday and $6.00/weekend day.  If you select this option, you can reach the conference activities at the Capital Hilton via Metrorail, a taxi, or by foot for those who can walk a few blocks.
