Older Women Rely on Social Security for Much of Income
Social Security is the largest source of income for both men and women aged 65 and older, and women rely on program benefits more than men do, according to a new IWPR fact sheet. Social Security is even more crucial for unmarried women 65 and older – more than two-thirds of these women would live in poverty without it.
