From October 2010 to October 2011, of the 1.5 million jobs added to payrolls 27 percent were filled by women and 73 percent were filled by men. Recently released IWPR research shows that while women’s employment now appears to be rising —in October women gained 66,000 jobs, but men gained only 14,000—the job gap between women and men in October is still 1.5 million. |
