About the Institute for Women’s Policy Research
The Institute for Women’s Policy Research is a scientific research organization founded in 1987 to meet the need for policy-relevant research on women’s lives and to inform and stimulate debate on issues of critical importance to women. The Institute works with policymakers, scholars, and public interest groups to design, execute, and disseminate research, and to build a network of individuals and organizations that conduct and use women-centered policy research. IWPR also works in affiliation with the graduate programs in Public Policy and Women’s Studies at The George Washington University. IWPR is an independent, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. About the Women’s Studies Program at The George Washington University
The Women’s Studies Program of The George Washington University unites faculty and students concerned with feminist scholarship and the role of women in society. The Program offers an MA in Women’s Studies and an MA in Public Policy with a concentration in Women’s Studies. The Program also collaborates with the Public Policy program to offer a Ph.D. in Public Policy with a field in Gender and Social Policy, and with the Human Sciences program to offer a Ph.D. in Human Sciences with an M.A. in Women’s Studies.
